I am a creator, thinker, father, and seeker of the unknown. I draw,paint,doodle,humor,strum...I go where inspiration leads while trying to remain grounded to the positive and energizing. This has lead me meandering the beaches of California to the Outer banks of North Carolina selling works of art,on stage in New York's east village singing songs, and by other means of energy, into the Boston Marathon. My love for running has recently earned me a top twenty finish in the Pittsburgh marathon. I try to set a good example and inspire everyone to do what they love.
Drawing was something I've done since I can remember. I attended Clarion University as an art major with a concentration in oil painting. Following after was a period of pursuing other passions until I discovered watercolors years later. I started working on the spot which opened up a huge door for me in terms of inspiration and therefore productivity. In my work I aim to establish a brief glimpse of a scene using the most minimal elements. Like the impressionists, I'm drawn to the effects of natural light. I often work on the spot or use a self composed Image based on a memory. As an avid runner, there's a lot of time to think when logging the miles. These runs have recently acted as a scouting mission for images. Whether its the trolley tracks I've passed a thousand times or something completely new. By making quick mental notes along the way, I'll go back to the studio, using the plein air approach to spontaneously record the scene.
I live in Pittsburgh with my wife, our three boys, and Buzz, our dog.
